15K Salary Go “Bye Bye”!

June 27th, 2007 by my-mars17

Damn, I just found out recently from my friend Bambi that the job offer that I turned down (the one in Suy Sing) gives a 15K salary. It means that I just gave up another job with a 15K worth of monthly salary.

Tell me, AM I STUPID??? Because I feel like I am.

It’s really heart-warming and touching that my friends really care for me.Thanks Chris for the wonderful and inspiring statements that you’ve told me. He’s the first one who first read my post about starting this new life thing, and then he called me up through his cellphone to congratulate me. Next was my sis Bhav. She called me through her cellphone just a while ago and we talked over the phone to catch things up. She told me that one of our friends Howard was looking for me (wonder why…) I was so happy that I finally had the chance to talk to my sis since she was my confidante ever since we were in college, I told her about my "starting a new life" thing, and it got her excited that she told me that she might plan a baby shower for me… (awwww how sweet… Thanks Bhav! Looking forward to it! ;P ) One thing that I was excited about when we were talking about life and stuffs was her work. She’s a part-time teacher in Gymboree (the one in Glorietta 4) and she told me that if I am interested, I could try to get a job there also as a part-time teacher. The good thing about this job is that I get to bring my baby with me and teach my baby for free. It sounds really tempting and I am actually looking forward to this job. We’ll just see how it goes after the baby is born. Then after Bhav, Ziggy called me up through his cellphone. He was at work that time (it was his break time). I bet Chris told him about me. LOL. And of course, from the kuya, I got that "sabi ko na nga ba sayo eh" line. I was expecting that actually. He congratulated me and talked about how my life in Bora was. It was just a short conversation but meaningful (I guess. :P)

So anyways, thanks to you all for the support and care. From the Bora friends (Ate Riza, Ate Sol, Candice, Ate Ann, etc.) down to my Benilde friends, thank you so much!

Turned Down Another Job Offer

June 26th, 2007 by my-mars17

A while ago, I got a mail from a company (Suy Sing Commercial Corporation, it’s the number one wholesale distribution company in the fast moving comsumer goods industry) that is offering me a job as either a Computer Programmer (which I believe I’m not qualified for), HR/Administrative Assistant, or a Junior Buyer.

Well obviously I have to turn this down due to my condition right now. Seriously speaking, I feel a bit down about saying no to this offer. It’s such a waste to just give up on an opportunity like this.

Actually, I have turned three job offers already. The first one was in a call center, I turned down an "easy money-making" job (that is what most of the people say… I heard that I could get almost PhP 10,000 - PhP 15,000 per month from this job.) because I wanted to experience working outside Manila (which was Boracay), but sad to say that I felt cheated by the agency responsible for us. They said that EVERYTHING will be free-of-charge, that includes the housing, and food, but when we arrived there, it turned out to be a bullshit. We had to LOOK and pay for a place to stay, and to make that worse, our salary is as low as hell (PhP 222.00 per day?!) I think I could have lived with that salary if it wasn’t for the monthly payment of PhP 2,000 for the house and additional costs for food (mind you, EVERYTHING COST A FORTUNE in Boracay).

So going back to the "turning-down-job-offers-spree" talk, the second one was an offer by some guy (I met in a jeepney) who texted me and said that the company he’s working at (forgot the name of the company but I’m pretty sure it was related to computers) needs an HR assistant immediately and is willing to pay PhP15,000 per month or higher depending on the employee’s work attitude. But that time, I was already working in Boracay so I had to turn that down too. (Damn.)

And here it is once again. Yet another job opportunity comes and I can’t take it because of my condition. Somehow I feel like I’m missing out a lot in life, the working life. I was just about to start a career, or at least have a decent job. But, because I got pregnant, I have no choice but to say no to these jobs. But this is only temporary, I will surely get back on track when I get over this situation I’m in right now. Not only I will have a job, but as well as a business of my own. WORLD, watch out for that! I DID NOT GRADUATE AS A CUM LAUDE FOR NOTHING!!! *wink wink* :p :p :p

I Hate VETS!!!

June 24th, 2007 by my-mars17

My dog just died!!!!!!

After I got my puppy checked up
last 6/20/2007, and my baby Spike recieved a couple of shots, he
doesn’t eat anymore!!! We need to force feed him, or else he won’t eat
anything at all, or even drink water for that matter!

The
last thing I saw my baby Spike did was vomit WHILE he’s resting, he
didn’t even bother getting up to vomit. He was too weak. He was my
baby…

Does that mean I’ll be a failure for a mom??? I can’t even nurture a puppy???!!! G*D D*MN that vet!

Yeah, It’s NEW Alright

June 23rd, 2007 by my-mars17

You don’t believe it? Well let’s see… Proud to say that I am about to become a mom no later than August of this year. My husband, Michael Waniwan (yeah some of you probably know him) and I got married just this February 23, 2007. It was just a civil wedding and we plan to officially get married sometime December this year (hopefuly). The thing is, of course I am so new to this kind of life, married life. I sort of like it, but sometimes, I can’t help feeling so bum around the house. It’s not that I can’t get a job, I QUIT the job I had because I needed to (can’t go on working in a world-class hotel kitchen with a 7-month baby inside me now can I?). I’ll just get another job here in Manila (I used to work in Boracay) after the baby is born. BUT! Who will look after the baby if I go to work? I know that I can hire yaya’s around but won’t it affect the baby’s affection towards me and sees the maid as his/her mom?

I know there are a lot of working moms around the world, and I do mean A LOT. How do they do it? Frankly, I am a career-oriented person, but having a baby, it seems like everything’s changed. Though I do not plan to become a housewife (NO WAY!), I want to stay close to my baby without sacrificing work and career (as of now, I don’t have one yet, damn.) What if I put up a business of my own? Sounds good isn’t it? But where do I get the capital? From my parents I guess. But… That would make me depend on them too much (my pride’s starting to overboard). And about business, Mike and I would really love to put up a computer shop (gamers, it’s in the blood, no wonder eh?). but financially speaking, budget’s tight, VERY TIGHT.

So much about ranting about my "new" life. Somehow this new life is giving me a hard time deciding on things. HELP!
